Southern Growth Policies Board is a non-partisan public policy think tank serving 13 member states and the south. We are a Non-Profit 501c organization.
Formed by the region’s governors in 1971, Southern Growth Policies Board develops and advances visionary economic development policies by providing a forum for partnership and dialog among a diverse cross-section of the region’s governors, legislators, business and academic leaders and the economic- and community-development sectors. This unique public-private partnership is devoted to strengthening the South’s economy and creating the highest possible quality of life.

Our Web site does not enable our visitors to communicate with other visitors or to post information to be accessed by others.

We do not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals.

We collect personal data such as name, address, phone, email address, and special interests that you may volunteer while filling out on-line registration forms for meetings and/or for ordering publications. After registration for our events your name will be manually added to our local interoffice Professional Contact Database. Your name will not be collected in any database on our southern.org or southerncompassnews.org hosting site. Your name and information will never be sold, shared, or traded to any other organization for any reason. It will be maintained internally and may used at a later date for occassional updates on future Southern Growth events. If you do not wish for your name to be added to our internal database you may email Paula Baker at pbaker.southern.org.
We do not collect credit card or other financial information on our website. Credit card and other payment information is collected through a secure third party payment portal or manually via personal phone call to either Mary Williams or Niraz Gos at 919-941-5145.
If we wish to use your personal data for a different purpose, we offer you the means to consent to this new purpose by indicating in a box at the point on the site where personal data is collected.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children on our website. Additionally, to ensure that children’s privacy is respected on our Web site, we ask that no one under the age of 18 fill out our online forms.
We take specific steps to protect the privacy of children by requiring signed consent forms for anyone under the age of 18 if collected personal information will be used. These forms are collected manually, via personal contact. Additionally, if necessary we give parents the option to consent to the collection and use of the child’s personal data for our internal use or in our reports or collaterial media.
